Everybody knows the income tax rates in CANADA are way too high. It's
not a fair system and the system does not encourage people to work hard.
The tax system penalizes high income people. For example, one who makes
60K a year is not much better off than someone who makes 35K a year
because the one who makes 60K is being considered 'RICH' and half of his
hardearned income will go to the government to support the poor. Why
should the RICH be penalized ? People who spend money and time to get a
higher education deserve to earn a higher income. What's wrong with that
? Why should they give their moeny away to support the poor ? CANADA
should just have a flat income rate so that everybody pays the same
percentage of their income for income tax. The high and low income
people, they both live in the same country, uses the same road and
facilities, why should the high income people pay more. This tax system
discrimates high-income people. Just to give an example, when someone
rent a apartment, will he/she pay a higher rent because he/she earns
more ? Or when someone goes to Mcdonald's, will the high-income person
pays more for the same burger ?
In my case, I make over 70K (The after-taxed income is not much more
than someone who makes 50K )and I have tons of chances to make extra
bucks and I don't mind working long hours. The reason that I am not
doing it as often is that I figured that I don't really get much from my
extra income because the fucking goverment is sitting there waiting to
collect half of my hard-earned money. Furthermore, I work to support
myself and my family, not the goverment and the POOR ! So my friends,
next time when you have a chance to make extra bucks, do some
calculation first to see if you or the goverment benefits more. And when
you file your tax return, do whatever you can to get the most back from
the governemt.
Other opions are welcome.
A pissed off tax payer.

I just knew how much tax I have to pay. I made about $34,000 last year and have to pay $2,400, much higher than I expected. I am like a low income earner and they taxed me this much. it is just ridiculous and unreasonable. I couldn't believe this.not a fair system and the system does not encourage people to work hard.
