Everybody knows the income tax rates in CANADA are way too high. It's
not a fair system and the system does not encourage people to work hard.
The tax system penalizes high income people. For example, one who makes
60K a year is not much better off than someone who makes 35K a year
because the one who makes 60K is being considered 'RICH' and half of his
hardearned income will go to the government to support the poor. Why
should the RICH be penalized ? People who spend money and time to get a
higher education deserve to earn a higher income. What's wrong with that
? Why should they give their moeny away to support the poor ? CANADA
should just have a flat income rate so that everybody pays the same
percentage of their income for income tax. The high and low income
people, they both live in the same country, uses the same road and
facilities, why should the high income people pay more. This tax system
discrimates high-income people. Just to give an example, when someone
rent a apartment, will he/she pay a higher rent because he/she earns
more ? Or when someone goes to Mcdonald's, will the high-income person
pays more for the same burger ?
In my case, I make over 70K (The after-taxed income is not much more
than someone who makes 50K )and I have tons of chances to make extra
bucks and I don't mind working long hours. The reason that I am not
doing it as often is that I figured that I don't really get much from my
extra income because the fucking goverment is sitting there waiting to
collect half of my hard-earned money. Furthermore, I work to support
myself and my family, not the goverment and the POOR ! So my friends,
next time when you have a chance to make extra bucks, do some
calculation first to see if you or the goverment benefits more. And when
you file your tax return, do whatever you can to get the most back from
the governemt.
Other opions are welcome.

I just knew how much tax I have to pay. I made about $34,000 last year and have to pay $2,400, much higher than I expected. I am like a low income earner and they taxed me this much. it is just ridiculous and unreasonable. I couldn't believe this.

You obviously know SFA about tax planning. Key is to get as much as possible

Far too many people just let the government take what they want when
there are many easy ways to lower your tax burden.

RIDICULOUS REASONING. Someone earning 60K is still a lot better off than one
earning 35K.I'll switch with the 60K person any day.

Nothing except that the "system" also gave you the chance to earn more and
be RICH so now it's time to pay up. Not everyone with a higher education
becomes "RICH".

Therefore you are getting more. The more you work the more you make
anyway. You merely decided that relaxing with family [or whatever] is worth
more than the 50% you were getting at the top margin rate.
Furthermore, I work to support

You are able to work in a society so you MUST pay for the government of that
society and the government certainly knows the best how to waste our money.
So my friends, next time when you have a chance to make extra bucks, do

Even if the government benefits more, others and myself will still gladly

I agree wholeheartedly.

If "moeny" and "opions" make over 70K I think I and many others certainly
qualify to make more money.

you must be one of those idiot vegans. Yes, this person used terrible examples, but it is most definetly true that this is how our government works! An example I would use is that my father had to work very hard to provide for his family of seven, working two jobs, often late nights for over 20 years. He worked two jobs, in total making around 100 grand a year, sometimes less. But the fucking government taxed the shit out of us, leaving us with just enough to feed, shelter, and clothe us. Yes, I know it was my parents choice to have 5 kids, and we got family allowance, but we didn't ask for that. All my family wants is to succeed and for their kids to succeed and be able to send their kids off to college. This way our government works doesn't help anyone but the filthy rich who have control and government ties. Its socialism at its best and its starving its country, and economy of growth.

Once again, I quote, "it was my parents' CHOICE to have 5 kids". If they
had used better birth control, they would have had no problem with
finances. Why should we or anyone else subsidize THEIR choices?
